Cravings

Zombie | Suspense

Written by David Rasch and Lindsay Duke

Logline: In the wake of a devastating new brain disease wreaking havoc among vulnerable populations, a seasoned psychologist takes center stage, introducing an unconventional remedy - Halfdead Therapy - to combat this emerging affliction.

A Proof of Concept for Disaster Man was filmed featuring actress Marie-Françoise Theodore (Only Murders in the Building) as “Agent Angela Pillings.”

Synopsis: In "Cravings," therapist Barbara grapples with Craig's addiction battle. In her office, the guitar-strumming Craig hints at emotional turbulence, symbolized by tissue boxes. Barb delves into a recent incident that shook Craig on a Friday.

As they discuss the encounter with a girl, Craig's suppressed emotions surface, revealing his vulnerability and frustration. The conversation escalates into chaos as he erupts, mimicking the inner turmoil of addiction. Barb employs therapeutic techniques, calming him momentarily.

Suddenly, Craig transforms into a decaying zombie—an allegory for addiction's grip. In a chilling twist, Barbara shoots him in self-defense. She composes herself, calling for help while maintaining control through controlled breathing.

"Cravings" metaphorically portrays the fight against addiction, with Barbara as the guardian against its consuming force. Amid therapy's battle, addiction's ferocity is personified, making the session a confrontation between recovery and relapse.
