A brilliant quantum physicist, Qacha, leads research to measure electromagnetic signals emanating from a huge fungus in Oregon’s old growth forest. Qacha believes fire-damaged forests can regenerate if left untouched, so she searches for hidden molecules in fungus that trigger regrowth.

Meanwhile, opposing forces within the FBI and dark money are operating to control Qacha’s research for their own purposes.

When Senator Burns working with dark money interests mysteriously dies while watching a video presentation of the fungus, the FBI and Huxley persuade Qacha to give her research to them. However, further analysis indicates that the fungus is acting as an underground DNA “bio server” whose purpose is to archive and synthesize genetic information crucial for the survival of all life, and is killing those who would harm it.

It’s up to Qacha and her team to communicate with the fungus before it carries out its plan to selectively weed out the human population.
