Motor City is a gritty crime drama series that takes place in the 1960s, Detroit’s Golden Age – an era lost in time. This serialized saga is about Detroit’s automotive giants, racial tension, unions, dirty cops, dirty politics and the music of Motown. Motor City has the flavor of True Detective and L.A. Confidential.

The story begins with Wesley Scott, a young black journalist, who is sent out to the auto factory to interview and photograph black factory workers. When he sets up for the photo shoot, he discovers the brutally murdered bodies of the chief of police and his mistress in the back seat of a Cadillac. Wesley photographs the murder scene and gets his first front page story.

Jake Garrett, the detective assigned to the case, learns about Wesley’s pictures. He seeks out Wesley and his photos to search for clues, but he is met with much resistance. Jake and Wesley are immediately at odds.

Throughout the series, Wesley and Jake’s lives entwine and collide while they struggle with fighting injustice, racism and government corruption.
